Live at the Piano Lounge: Scrub Hubner

Thursday nights, the J invites you to enjoy free live music in the piano lounge from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. The Firehall Cafe at the J offers their full menu of food and beverages until 9:00 PM. Curated by local musician Victor Pruner, the Live at the Piano Lounge series is designed to bring a variety of local musicians to engage the community. Scrub Hubner (aka the Human Jukebox) has been playing the guitar and singing since grade school. Whether it was "Sink the Bismarck" at a Central Grade School assembly or the Beach Boys "409" for the Ferndale PTA, Scrub loved to perform the songs he learned from the 45's he and his brother bought. Blessed with an encyclopedic memory for Top 40 rock songs and lyrics from 1955 to 1975, Scrub draws in audiences playing requests that invite singing along. Cruise on in with some requests from your youth (or, for the younger generation, maybe some from your parents' teen years), grab a snack and a beverage in the cafe and let Scrub take you back on a musical trip to those magical years of rock.
